Job Summary

 

Come Join Us! ACCO brands is seeking a motivated Quality Manager. Responsible for the Quality Program in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  

  • Lead and manage overall activities of the Quality Department.
  • Responsible for all quality assurance and product compliance activities to ensure all products comply with ACCO Brands and customer quality and compliance standards.
  • Lead the implementation of standard quality processes, tools, and techniques to assure ongoing process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and proper document control.
  • Work with raw material suppliers on quality issues and material trials. Ensure that Supplier Corrective Actions Reports are raised and completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Product Development, Marketing, and other departments to comply with quality and product compliance standards.
  • Create and maintain databases to support the quality control activities and aid in reporting performance.
  • Establish key quality metrics to monitor progress of continuous improvement activities.
  • Report quality performance to site and corporate teams and propose necessary actions.
  • Serve as the site lead for quality and compliance audits.
  • Manage the chemical testing process and assure compliance with the ACCO Restricted Substance List.
  • Lead assigned staff to complete the daily activities of the Quality Department.
  • Monitor and support the creation of sales kit samples.
  • Train employees on quality management system and expectations.
  • Travel to customers/vendors and other ACCO sites as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  

  • BS or BA degree preferred with five years of experience managing quality in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience in an ISO environment.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software and demonstrated background in developing and managing databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with internal and external parties in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement processes with knowledge of 6-Sigma, Kaizen, SPC and Process Control (how to measure, track analysis and initiate improvement). Ability to acquire and analyze data gathered in improvement initiatives.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and excellent communication and presenting skills necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Audits, with experience developing and implementing quality audit programs.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing preventative and corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional skill in motivating others and leading teams.
  • General knowledge of test equipment and calibration.
  • Has strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the Company.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Individual office however must spend considerable time on plant and warehouse floors. Personal safety equipment could include safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes. Building is temperature controlled but would be exposed to heat, cold, humidity, machine noises, and is in the proximity of moving machine parts. Travel may be required.

Other Requirements:

Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, good judgement, excellent communication skills, organizational ability, ability to read and understand engineering drawings, interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of personnel and contacts within and outside organization.

Must be able to travel occasionally.
