Job Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking a Sr. Business Financial Analyst to analyze business data and develop sales reports/dashboards to guide the business decision making process. This position is hybrid, working from either our Lake Zurich, IL or Burlingame, CA locations. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain sales reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to track key sales KPIs and provide insights to business stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support leveraging large data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely sales commission calculations and payouts.
  • Use advanced excel skill to build/ create, implement, and manage tools to evaluate/ monitor profitability and make sound decisions as it relates to opportunities and customer program investments.
  • Collaborate with the sales team & other cross functional teams to define and implement efficient processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Navigate the existing reporting resources within the company and improve the reporting eco-system/ infrastructure across the US Sales organization.
  • Analyze business performance on a recurring basis to identify issues/opportunities that are highlighted by the data, and then work with the various cross-functional teams to address those issues and opportunities.
  • Demonstrates high quality work through diligent documentation of process/methodology, data sources, and assumptions.
  • Support financial modeling by gathering data from a variety of sources, which may include operational data, metrics, competitor information, and feedback from business partners.
  • Develop sound business proposals in collaboration with Sales and other key stakeholders for incremental opportunities and program investments. 
  • Develops presentations and shares findings as well as recommendations.
  • Review, audit and summarize operational data and provide executive summaries with recommendations to US sales leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 
  • 8+ years of experience developing, maintaining, monitoring, and improving analytical business tools preferred. 
  • 8+ years of experience in areas of market research analysis, web analytics, or big data analysis preferred. 
  • 8+ years of in-depth Business Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Forecasting experience preferred. 
  • 1-2 years of people management experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Tableau or any other data analysis tool. 
  • Research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business operations knowledge to include understanding the function's value chain and market conditions.
  • Solid ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Project management skills as part of implementing business process changes.
  • Knowledge of available data sources, strengths and shortcomings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and solid knowledge of database software. Experience with SAP/Ariba strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred. 
  • Proficiency with SQL is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper analytical processes and procedures, independently derive conclusions and present results to the tea, 
  • Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced ambiguous environment.

 

Salary Range: $100,000 - 110,000 annually
