Job Summary

The Creative Services Writer writes, proofreads, and copyedits a variety of marketing and technical materials across brands in the ACCO Work/Office portfolio ranging from Sales Enablement materials to in store display to product packaging. This position leverages knowledge of topic and brand editorial position, supplemented by additional study and research, to craft effective communications.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets project briefs, understands content objectives, and participates in content-specific brainstorming sessions for campaigns.
  • Crafts concepts and executes copy that is in line with established brand voice and standards and aligns to the appropriate marketing channel.
  • Actively collects information to support projects through interactions with cross functional teams, internal subject matter experts and independent research.
  • Creates technical- and brand-focused content that includes, but is not limited to, presentations, marketing emails, retail packaging, directions for use, manuals and guides, marketing collateral, and tradeshow materials.
  • Works directly with internal stakeholders in partnership with Art Directors on initiatives to deliver streamlined, engaging content for the right audience, at the right time.
  • Executes within processes, ensuring that all material created is factually correct, compliant and in line with best practices.
  • Uses project management software as part of the content creation, editing, and delivery process.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in English, Communications, Marketing, or related degree is required
  • 5+ years of experience writing/editing within an agency or corporate environment is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Technical Writing and/or writing for Sales Enablement materials is required.
  • Experience writing for a B2B audience is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of communications trends and best practices, preferably with a focus on B2B
  • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects, with diverse audiences and craft accessible communications for complex and/or demanding subject matter
  • Must be able to apply sound logic yet be comfortable making decisions and resolving challenges/questions with little information, where needed
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong external and internal relationship, presentation, and communication skills with ability to influence.
  • Able to balance strategic and tactical work, implement web marketing tactics, balance customer and business needs, work cross-functionally, solid team player, good interpersonal skills, and drive for results with limited/shared resources
  • Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working in project management software.
  • 10% travel may be required to seminars, conferences and offsite meetings
  • Hybrid: Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday in office: Lake Zurich, IL or Sidney, NY and Thursday & Friday - Work from Home.
