Job Summary

The Global Category Marketing Manager is responsible for developing the global marketing strategy to drive market share growth and leadership in physical hardware security, digital data protection, and connectivity hardware categories for the Kensington brand.  The person in this role must have experience in physical and digital hardware security, or the electronic accessory market, with a firm grasp of B2B and B2C marketing. The Category Marketing Manager will work with global product management, regional marketing, and sales teams to understand the unique needs of each market and create strategies to support growth initiatives.


  • Develop strategies and tactics to drive market share growth in physical hardware security, digital data protection (biometrics, shredders, privacy filters) and hardware connectivity (docking, hubs, adapters) in supported countries around the globe.
  • Balance and prioritize between multiple product categories (75% Security/25% Connectivity), while working across the aisle internally to guide content development with junior category managers.
  • Understand regional market differences, by meeting and collaborating with local sales and marketing personnel to understand their unique situation and needs.  Assist in communicating needs to the rest of the global organization.
  • Evaluate the end user and partner experience by reviewing and optimizing product content and collateral (web and print).
  • Partner with hardware manufacturers to develop physical and digital security strategies, as well as connectivity attach, based around their hardware roadmaps.
  • Create meaningful content demonstrating Kensington’s leadership in the category and providing informative tools for IT buyers to leverage in the buyer’s journey (blogs, articles, sales tools, filters, and other end user specific tools).
  • Build multi-layered campaigns, working with digital marketing teams and creative agencies, to support product launches and overall category awareness.
  • Identify and develop media and key influencer targets, creating opportunities for article placement, product reviews, and events.
  • Monitor competition regarding marketing and go to market tactics.
  • Identify opportunities to demonstrate leadership and raise Kensington’s share of voice with end users and in the channel.
  • Research market, technology, and workplace trends to inform messaging, campaign strategy and content.
  • Conduct voice of customer surveys, meet with key strategic customers, and support global product management in developing strong product and software roadmaps.
  • Support sales organization at key end user or channel events as needed.


  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Three to five years of proven working experience in physical and digital hardware security, or the electronic accessory market.
  • Experience partnering with manufacturers to develop cooperative strategies.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and nurturing relationships with media, analysts and key influencers in the tech industry.
  • Experience in primary and secondary research. 
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely to peers and management regarding strategy, execution, and results.
  • Able to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)


Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 

Important Note on Work Schedule:  If you are located near the San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX areas, you may be required to follow the company hybrid schedule, working three (3) days per week in the local office. This policy requires you to be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and another day of the week which you and the Hiring Manager will agree on.
