Job Summary

ACCO Brands is undergoing a strategic transformation across the globe to move from a traditional office manufacturer to a consumer- and technology-goods company.  To achieve this, we must put the consumer at the center of our efforts and the Marketing Manager is an important position to help achieve this transformation. This role will serve a key part in supporting the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as they work to shape and then drive this transformation. Success in this journey requires a strategic, consumer-centric, and marketing savvy manager who is comfortable operating as a “player coach”, has proven success developing and leading teams, and a passion for the ACCO Brand portfolio. This role reports into the Sr. Marketing Manager and will provide support and execution of various critical activities of the marketing team.

ACCO Brands is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager for our Office branded product portfolio team. Motivated growth-oriented individuals will have the opportunity to advance within our Marketing organization as we continue to grow and evolve as a company. This role will be an Office product champion and product line expert for the Quartet brand within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of P&L of assigned product portfolio including product mix management, pricing strategy, new product launch activities, multi-year strategic planning, and customer/channel-specific marketing programs
  • Drive annual marketing plans and oversee tactical execution inclusive of internal and external resource management and content development
  • Partner with Insights & Analytics team to perform detailed category analysis, and identify consumer learning needs, to extract findings and identify opportunities/trends which can be translated into actionable business plans and marketing strategies
  • Regularly assess competition, both direct and indirect, proactively identifying threats while exposing weaknesses to subsequently recommend thoughtful plans of action
  • Assist in the development of annual brand objectives, product programs, retail partnerships, and special projects to gain market share and improve annual results
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales organization in satisfying customer requirements and serving as subject matter expert, influencing top of mind relevance across key channels
  • Collaborate and partner with Global Product Development teams to frame strategy and deliver product innovations in conjunction with the new product development process
  • Monthly engagement into annual/seasonal product life cycle management activities
  • Successful support and enablement of defined short/mid/long term brand objectives
  • Assurance that all elements of the value chain (sales, operations, supply chain, finance, marketing, etc.) reach agreed upon goals for the brand
  • Consistent, precision execution of product/program launches within success parameters and criteria
  • Establishes and executes plans with excellence with committed resources in conjunction with senior management direction
  • Communicates in a consistent, credible manner in day-to-day cross-functional interactions, while conveying strategic ideas with a thoughtfully composed, influential approach

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • 7+ Years of experience across product management, product marketing, brand management and/or product lifecycle management
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C product categories
  • Accustomed to managing and developing direct reports
  • Familiarity with marketing products in multiple channels simultaneously including e-commerce, direct sales, regional distributors, independent dealers, mass retail, big box, and/or rep networks
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to accomplish business goals
  • Can-do, will-do attitude/mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential
  • Proven ability to communicate, work with, present to, and influence cross-functional teams across all organizational levels, including senior management
  • Curiosity-bound, growth-minded attitude with decision making, project management, and technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Local candidates only. Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
