Job Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking a Senior Manager, Pricing & Demand Analytics. The Sr. Manager, Pricing & Demand Analytics will be the pricing and demand modeling subject matter expert and will drive transformational change in how we deliver profitable growth and consumer value through the power of analytics. Responsibilities will include helping the business determine pricing strategies and demand forecasting to gain market share and achieve revenue goals.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pricing analytics and bottoms-up demand modeling, with experience in building these models from scratch, collaborating with cross-functional partners and executive leadership, and communicating complex data-driven insights to all levels of the organization. You will also be a change agent to evolve and deploy insights and optimizations for revenue management into marketing, sales, and finance. You should be passionate about marketing, sales, data & analytics with a balanced mix of client-side experience/consulting, including a track record of using sales analytics to drive top line revenue and profit growth.  This role will report to the Director of Business Analytics for North America.

Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert in pricing and demand analytics
  • Drive profitable growth via revenue management analytics covering trade promotion, pricing, and mix management.
  • Develop and execute pricing and demand models to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with, and asses multiple data sources from, insights, marketing, sales, and finance teams to understand market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform pricing strategies and build bottoms-up demand models.
  • Applying statistical modeling methods to determine price elasticity and the impact of pricing strategies on profitability.
  • Build bottoms-up demand models by brand. Forecast demand and market share based on market trends, product mix dynamics and distribution, competitive pricing and promotion, margins, etc.
  • Develop and manage a dynamic pricing and demand models to effectively respond to changing market needs and trends.
  • Advise on pricing policies and guidelines, and ensure pricing is aligned with product positioning, customer value, and competitive environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate pricing and demand performance against established KPIs and objectives and provide regular reports to the marketing and executive leadership teams.
  • Continuously improve pricing strategies by designing and testing pricing actions on a smaller scale to optimize against business objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and communication to ensure pricing and demand strategies are integrated with broader business strategies. Provide guidance and influence P&L owners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics. MS or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years in a pricing analytics or demand forecasting roles; 6+ years in CPG company preferred; Direct retail sector experienced preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
  • Mastery of price elasticities and volume planning modeling (demand planning modeling) required; Experience building bottoms-up demand models required.
  • Expert-level experience in business intelligence and visualization toolkits (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to transform data, build statistical models, and create predictive simulations using tools like R/SQL/SAS. Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Must have experience with syndicated data sources (such as IRI, NPD) as well as customer sales data and its application for, not only business analysis, but volume planning. 
  • Experience with big data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or SAP S4 Hana. (S4 Hana preferred)
  • Exceptional communicator (verbal and written) - Ability to tell a story, synthesize and convey key messages and present in a visual and compelling way
  • Problem solving skills including abstract reasoning, cause/effect analysis and innate curiosity
  • Must demonstrate both analytical and creative thinking abilities
  • Local candidates only. Must be able to work onsite 3 days a week (Monday- Wednesday).
  • % OF TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION: 0-15%
