Job Summary
The Supply Chain Data Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze transportation and supply chain data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities related to cost, service, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain transportation-focused dashboards and performance scorecards using Tableau or similar visualization tools.
- Support cost-benefit analyses comparing prepaid vs. collect freight terms across various business units and customer segments.
- Conduct carrier performance evaluations using shipment-level data to assess service levels, freight spend, and delivery trends.
- Investigate shipping patterns across customers to uncover anomalies, inefficiencies, or mode optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT and business users to define reporting requirements, participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and help implement new analytical reports.
- Assist in the development and tracking of transportation KPIs, benchmarks, and quarterly business reviews.
- Prepare analytical summaries and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, budget reviews, and carrier negotiations.
- Maintain documentation for datasets, definitions, and recurring reports to ensure data integrity and repeatability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Supply Chain, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in Python, R, SQL, Alteryx & Excel for data analysis, data cleaning, and visualization
- Strong understanding of machine learning techniques including classification, clustering, regression, and model evaluation.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data modeling (dimensional modeling, ETL processes, OLAP).
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to build interactive dashboards and reports.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, uncover trends, and derive actionable insights in areas such as transportation or carrier performance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in key functional areas: supply chain management, logistics, decision support, transportation management, distribution or procurement functional responsibilities
- SAP BW Hana preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Transportation Management Systems, SAP preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of supply chain, transportation, inventory and warehousing concepts, methods & modes
- Experience collecting and analyzing data for modeling, network optimization and/or transportation redesign purposes
