Job Summary
ACCO Brands is seeking a Finance Manager to join the North American, Decision Support, Finance team. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, this role reports to the VP, Finance, and collaborates with Canadian leaders in Sales, Marketing, Operations and HR along with other areas of Finance. The Finance Manager will utilize their accounting and financial background, and strong business acumen, to provide financial advice and insights to their respective business partners to drive the business to make strategic and well-informed decisions.

Responsibilities
- Manage the month end close process to provide vital business results to the Canadian leadership team. Work will include financial reporting and analysis, focused on key financial metrics and analysis of variances for the Business Unit.
- Act as main Finance point of contact and partner for the Canada leadership team
- Actively participate in preparation of forecasts and budgets as part of a multi-disciplined team within the North American segment.
- Responsible for overall Internal Controls for the Canadian business to ensure compliance with internal and external audit.
- Oversee the establishment and ensure the adherence to company-wide financial policies, procedures, and guidelines for general accounting.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Tax Agencies (Federal and Provincial), enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Oversee Treasury related activities including hedging to mitigate financial risks.
- Lead or act as team member on special/strategic projects, acting as a strong business partner while assuming the lead financial role.
- Support ad hoc requests as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post secondary institution, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably in a CPG organization.
- Detail-orientated with the ability to see the bigger picture and operate strategically.
- Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
- Project management skills as part of implementing business process changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
- Advanced Excel skills – strong ability to understand data structures, manipulate large volumes of data, build models, and generate insights.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; aptitude building internal/external relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Human Resources, IT, Accounting, Audit, and Financial Reporting
- Experience with US GAAP, and SOX preferred.
