Job Summary

ACCO Brands, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician for our Mississauga, Ontario location.  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position will support the maintenance department in efficiently troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and other electrical components in our manufacturing facility.

This role is a straight afternoon shift (shift rotation is available if preferred by candidate) and the rate is $37.18- $40.00 plus afternoon shift premium of $0.85 per hour. The successful candidate is also eligible for a $4000 sign on bonus!

Responsibilities

  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures & other electrical components
  • Test electrical/electronic equipment & components for current, voltage & resistance
  • Install, maintain, test, and replace electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems,
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Participate in plant continuous improvement projects
  • Work at heights up to 30 feet on Aerial Lifting Platforms
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and program various PLC platforms, including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, and Mitsubishi is an asset

Qualifications

  • Certificate of qualification – 309A (Red Seal) and or 442A
  • Successful completion of Electrical Apprenticeship Program
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
  • 1-2 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment, with experience in a paper converting environment considered an asset
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills with the ability to lead a team
  • Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, manual dexterity
