Job Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for providing strong leadership and direction for all maintenance and facilities related activities to support manufacturing, distribution, buildings and grounds. This position is also responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient working environment for all employees, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and work excellence within your departments.


  • Support plant safety programs and training and always enforce safe work practices.  Document and investigate accidents and injuries to prevent future occurrences.  Monitor work areas to ensure a safe environment is maintained and all safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of methods and procedures to ensure effective utilization of resources.  Provide support through troubleshooting, preventative and predictive maintenance, training and sharing of information to all department personnel. 
  • Support all environmental, energy conservation, housekeeping, recycling and facilities operations.
  • Manage all maintenance activities in support of production equipment, distribution equipment, and facility equipment and infrastructure; breakdown, planned work, and preventative maintenance requirements.
  • Responsible for all maintenance and facility related work, breakdown & planned repairs, preventative maintenance, and operations. This includes coordinating internal and/or external repairs as needed to support manufacturing, distribution, and all facilities related work on the campus. climate control systems (boilers, chillers, and humidifiers), fire systems, 46KV sub-station, water purification systems, and proper storage and disposal of hazardous and regulated waste.
  • Responsible to support all federal, state and local regulations for the Sidney site. (OSHA, EPA, DEC, village of Sidney codes, etc.)
  • Establish and supervise staffing and workflow to meet Maintenance goals.
  • Responsible for setting work expectations and monitoring progress to insure timely execution of Maintenance operations.
  • Manage maintenance work order backlog.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Distribution Supervisors along with Engineers on a regular basis to address their needs effectively and efficiently.
  • Identify and direct continuous improvement activities in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely administration of Time and Attendance.
  • Responsible to ensure timely, accurate reporting of labor and materials within the Maintenance department utilizing job closures for SAP.
  • Pro-actively supports the company’s mission, vision, and code of conduct initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required for the effective operation of the departments or as directed by the area manager.


  • Excellent technical knowledge of maintenance functions.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of printing and binding manufacturing equipment. Desired.
  • Evidence of leadership ability and potential to effectively supervise a department, experience desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of SAP, desired (Maintenance and storeroom).
