Qualifications

•             Physically able to continuously handle 40 lb. bundles. (Physical capability evaluation will be given.)

•             Ability to operate the press stacker and other press equipment.

•             Basic math and writing skills required. (Basic skills test will be given.)

•             Ability to work with minimal supervision.

•             Ability to see all colors is imperative to do the job.  Color vision must be normal. Testing will be required.

•             Evidence of ability to become a press operator with further training

•             Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions

•             Evidence of excellent attendance.

•             Evidence of good working relationship with other employees.

•             Must be team oriented, quality and safety conscious.

•             Must meet requirements of basic skills screening

•             Must meet requirements of a physical capabilities screening.

Job Summary

Individuals must be available for any shift, as well as overtime, with usual off days of Saturday and Sunday.  Shift hours, lunch and break schedules are the same as the Press department.  Initial assignment will be on 1st or 2nd shift due to the seniority-based bumping that occurs in the pressroom.

Responsibilities

1.            Responsible to meet and maintain all established production, quality and safety standards.

2.            Support and maintain lean process changes as they occur to ensure sustainability of these initiatives.

3.            Assist crews and other operators to insure high productivity and quality.

4.            Completes all paperwork associated with the position.

5.            Responsible for housekeeping/recycling in his/her work area.

6.            Bundles and stacks bundle of signatures.

7.            Responsible for maintaining an accurate bundle and pallet count of product.

8.            Assists in press make ready and clean up.

9.            Moves pallets of product and other material as required.

10.         Continuously work to improve such things as output, set-up time and minimizing downtime.

11.         Other duties as assigned.
