Job Summary
As a Sr. Category Manager, you will be the in the driver seat for researching and creating global business plans enabling the development of new product categories and growth for existing categories within PowerA’s gaming accessory segment. Your deep understanding of the holistic gaming ecosystem, retail landscape and consumer behaviors combined with sharp business acumen will be put to the test as you create the roadmap for expansion. In parallel, you will put your Product Management skills to action and drive execution of plans while achieving revenue goals. This highly visible role will work in the Marketing Org. and collaborate closely with several cross-functional teams to assess viability and commence execution of proposed plans.
Responsibilities
- Research global gaming market verticals and provide an analysis of viability for PowerA to enter and grow within those categories.
- Partner with internal stake holders to develop business plans which inform and enable leadership and cross-functional teams to take action.
- Manage product lifecycles for owned categories including all PLM functions from concept to EOL.
- Document plans and develop / lead presentations to leadership teams on findings and recommendations.
- In partnership with the Creative Department, develop all consumer facing marketing imagery, including packaging, ensuring the best possible visual assets are delivered for each SKU.
- Develop all consumer facing product copy and product naming.
- Localize all content for use in the global marketplace.
- Monitor and report on milestones and KPIs throughout execution.
- Steer the business towards defined annual goals and optimize along the way.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing. Masters or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years Marketing, Category Management and/or Business Strategy. Equivalent experience in other related areas considered.
- 3+ Experience working in Video Gaming is required.
Specialized Skills/Characteristics:
- P&L management, proven ability to drive revenue and profit goals
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Proven understanding of the global gaming industry
- Fundamental understanding of sales / marketing funnel dynamics
- Analytical mindset with strategic ability
- Budget management and business plan development
- Consumer facing copy and content - cross collaborating with Creative teams / agencies
Expert Proficiency in:
- Analytics
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Presenting to Senior Leadership
- Using data visualization/BI tools is preferred
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000
